Shorewood Bakery & Good Coffee

If you haven’t placed your order with Oliver and Shorewood Bakery, you’re missing out. And this cute baker delivers right to your door! His scones are amazing. He delivered yesterday afternoon and it wasn’t easy to wait until Sunday morning breakfast! I will say the scones were worth the wait. I placed my order and didn’t request a certain flavor. When he delivered them, I asked him what he whipped up and he told me they were cranberry with a hint of orange. He was right, just a perfect hint of orange! I also recommend checking out the Bay Area Farmers Market held on Sundays at Baybrook Mall. We picked up local honey, beautiful fresh flowers, and the best coffee beans ever. I love using a french press and fresh local beans really do make a difference. I researched different presses as well as coffee grinders. I purchased a Le Cruset press and I love it because it keeps my coffee warm longer. I learned that the best way to grind coffee beans is with a burr grinder. They are different than a blade grinder in that two burr pieces funnel the beans a few at a time into the grinder which keeps the grounds a uniform size. This process results in a richer brew. There are many brands on the market. I like OXO brew. Its compact and will fit under the counter. I don’t like having all my gadgets on the counter.
